Rin is the name of the fallen human. After having been dared by their friends one Halloween night, they ventured up to the mountain to prove that 'monsters' were nothing short of a myth. However, upon falling into the Underground, they quickly discovered an entire world sitting just beneat their feet...
Rin is a human with the soul of freedom, a red soul that grants them the will to keep living, and the resolve to change fate. Even if they're being chained to the floor or fighting eldritch gods, Rin refuses to give up in order to complete their objective. For all intents and purposes, they act an unstoppable force even in the face of a world that wants them dead.
It should be noted that, despite having a feminine appearance, Rin does not adhere to any specific label, and thus debates about gender and pronouns are inheritely below them. They prefer to go by they, but she, him, and it, among others, are equally as correct. Keep this in mind for the future.
Relationships
| Rin and Molly are close friends who share the same homeroom teacher on the surface. They were initially rivals but bonded over their love of the supernatural. They're practically best friends by this point. | |
| Rin and Ben are only really friends because they're in the same group, despite Rin being the so-called leader of it. Rin's personal freedoms don't mesh well with Ben's respect for authority, and his love for peace slows down her love for adventure. They're are acquaintances by choice. | |
| Rin and Everett two friends who enjoy personal freedoms. However, the two often clash as a result of their differing personalities. Ev often causes trouble by asking questions later. Meanwhile, Rin sometimes makes problems worse by being an aggressor. They're two sides of similar coins. | |
| Rin and Chara have a complicated relationship. While at first, it was certainly rocky, their friendship together has certainly stood the test of the timeline. Rin has even gone as far as to give up their soul if it meant Chara gets a second chance, but at the story has foretold, they're practically inseparable. | |
| Though the two don't ever meet canonically, Rin and Clover would-almost certainly be rivals. Their differing routes through the Underground and experience with monsterkind would cause them to clash. Though, who would win is anyone's guess. |

Trivia
- In the unreleased Drealturne mod, entering Rin's full name would've unlocked a "nightmare mode" in the same way Frisk's name unlocked Hard Mode in Undertale.
- Despite having design similarities to Cyra from Undertale Blue, the two are completely unrelated.
- If a genocide route were to occur, it's likely Rin would lose sight of their objective. They would percieve themselves as the "God of the Underground," much in the same way the fandom initially percieved Chara, as well as how Light Yagami from Death Note percieves himself.
- Though not accurately represented in the artwork, Rin is often referred to as "chubby" by characters like Chara and Vio early in the story. When later reuiniting with Molly, she's stated to have "lost weight." This is a slight reference to dialogue in Earthbound where Ness is similarly-referred to by characters throughout the game.
- In the original ending of Drealturne: Red, Kaffrin was meant to give up their soul to Chara in order for them to get a second chance at life, dying while surrounded by Chara, Molly, and other characters. This was scrapped to give them a happier ending.

Appearances
- Game Chaser: RPG: A video game by TiffanyVideo about four friends who discover a mysterious gateway device. Rin appears in the 10th Arc of the same name.
- DREALTURNE: VIOLET: A companion piece/sequel to Red, where Rin's friend Molly enters the Underground in order to find her friend Molly.
- DREALTURNE: RED: An AU fanfiction where Rin appears as a main character, going through the Underground as a result of a dare.
